Practice and professional experience

Peter has extensive experience advising clients in all aspects of patent protection. He also understands the need to tailor the service he provides to his clients’ circumstances, and not simply provide generic, if accurate, legalese.

This approach is vital as Peter has worked with a wide range of clients, from inventors looking for advice on their first patent application to multinational corporations looking to maintain their competitive edge. Peter has also advised university spin-outs and other SMEs with a particular view to attracting investment. As well as drafting, filing and prosecuting patent applications throughout the world, Peter has experience of oppositions before the EPO, due diligence and freedom-to-operate reports, and providing advice to clients faced with potential litigation.

Peter makes himself a specialist in the technologies that interest his clients. He has particular experience working in the field of computer implemented inventions, but also as significant expertise in other areas such as telecommunications, photonics, and industrial processes.
