Stefanie has experience working with a wide variety of clients, ranging from small start-up companies and spin-offs to large multinationals. During her career, Stefanie has developed a wealth of experience in handling patents in technologies including medical devices, software and electronics. In particular, Stefanie has specialist knowledge and a keen interest in relation to medical imaging and radiotherapy, as well as the ever-evolving legal complexities of software protection in Europe. She speaks English, French and Dutch.
In addition to her client work, she has been working as a tutor for the legal qualification exam (EQE paper D) since qualifying, and is active in training new members of the profession. She has garnered a considerable reputation for her patient teaching style and extensive legal expertise, and continues to help dozens of trainees pass the qualifying exams each year. Stefanie joined Kilburn & Strode in July 2021, after working in another patent firm in the Netherlands. Prior to joining the profession, Stefanie completed her PhD in Physics. Her doctoral research focussed on developing a Bayesian analysis method for baryon spectroscopy.
