Patent Attorney - Tech

About Us
Kilburn & Strode is one of Europe’s leading firms of patent and trade mark attorneys. We hire the best people and we do excellent work for the world’s finest organisations – companies like Aston Martin, Boeing, and Cisco.
We deal with all aspects of patents, trademarks and designs. We work for a broad range of clients from major international corporations through to individual inventors – we’re often at the forefront of cutting-edge innovations.
London is our international headquarters, we also have offices in the Netherlands and San Francisco – and we collaborate across offices to give our clients the best service. We truly understand our clients’ points-of-view to give them an excellent experience, but we work hard to create a friendly and innovative culture where like-minded people want to work.
We know that our reputation as a firm is based entirely on the quality of the individuals who work here. That’s why we’ve always been uncompromising in seeking out people who are not only at the top of their game, but who also share our enthusiasm and outlook.
The Opportunity
This is a fantastic opportunity for a fully qualified patent attorney with a background in electronic engineering, computer science, or software to join our Tech team. We have a brilliant team of over 60 individuals who advise some very high-profile clients across all fields of technology.
This is a unique opportunity to join our team where you will be given the support and guidance to take ownership of the relationships and growth of some exciting SME tech companies that are creating truly cutting-edge technology. In turn this role will allow you real autonomy, direct UK-based client relationships, and the ability to develop your own practice to further your career. You will be supported and helped to grow in this role, as necessary, by a close team of expert practitioners. The role will also allow you to work within part of the wider Tech team for some of the firm’s prestigious large tech clients such as Cisco, Dropbox, Google, LG, and Netflix.
You must be commercially minded, hard-working, self-motivated, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a keen interest in business development. The ability to work closely with direct clients is essential.
You will ideally have spent the early part of your career training at a private practice IP firm and have excellent experience drafting the full suite of documentation covering the patent life cycle and managing a patent portfolio.
The Offer
The opportunity to join a creative and supportive team in London with a clear path for career progression. The role also provides the opportunity for autonomy, agile working, flexibility and part-time working.
Working for a firm that lives and breathes it’s values, strives to create a positive working environment and culture, and actively supports community and charitable initiatives.
We aren’t committed to diversity because it’s “good for business” or because it’s the “right thing to do.” We’re committed because it makes our firm a superb place to work. Whatever your background, you’re welcome here because we love the creativity that difference brings.
All candidates will be treated on their merits regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, age, religion, marital or parental status, disability, or socio-economic background.
