Corina joined Kilburn & Strode in January 2020, as an Attorney in the Life Sciences and Chemistry group, having previously trained in house at a FTSE 100 multinational chemical company in the UK.
Corina brings more than 15 years of academic and industrial research experience to her intellectual property practice. Corina obtained a PhD in Chemistry from Dartmouth College (NH, USA) and carried out post-doctoral research at MIT (MA, USA) and the University of Heidelberg in collaboration with BASF (Germany). Working as an R&D chemist, she gained considerable experience with catalytic processes employed in pharmaceutical and agrochemicals industries, polymer chemistry, materials science and clean energy technology.
Since joining the profession in October 2014, Corina has obtained extensive experience of drafting and prosecuting patent applications primarily in the UK and Europe. She has experience of IP portfolio management having been involved in managing the IP portfolio of one of the businesses of a FTSE 100 multinational chemical company. Corina has experience of working closely with local attorneys in China, Japan, India, Australia and the US. Corina also has experience of oppositions and appeals before the European Patent Office, as well as in providing freedom to operate opinions relating to products and chemical processes.
