Jarrod joined Kilburn & Strode in August 2021 as a Foreign Qualified Attorney in the Life Sciences and Chemistry group, having previously worked at a leading Australian firm.
Jarrod is a registered Australian and New Zealand Patent Attorney. He is a recipient of the Institute of Patent and Trade Mark Attorneys of Australia (IPTA) Institute Prize, which is awarded to the best newly qualified Australian patent attorney for excellence in academic subjects and for potential to contribute substantially to the profession. Jarrod is currently working towards qualification as a UK and European Patent Attorney.
Jarrod practises in all areas of biotechnology, with a particular focus on biologics, gene therapies, recombinant protein manufacturing and genetically engineered plants. He is experienced in coordinating large portfolios across multiple jurisdictions and regularly provides freedom to operate, infringement, validity, and strategic patent advice.
Jarrod was a NHMRC Early Career Research Fellow at Monash University after completing his PhD at Jesus College, University of Cambridge. During this time, Jarrod's scientific research spanned a wide range of biotechnological applications including therapeutic antibodies against influenza and cancer, anthrax drug targets, and bacterial gene regulators.
