Tom is an Associate in our Tech group. He has a commercial and practical approach, informed by working for clients ranging in size from large multinationals to new start-ups.
With a physics background, Tom’s areas of expertise also include medical devices, telecommunications, electronics, healthcare and software.
Tom has particular experience managing patent applications in many different countries around the world. In addition to European and UK expertise, he regularly deals with patent applications in the US, Japan, South Korea and China. He draws upon this experience when drafting new applications which will meet requirements in different countries.
He has been involved with litigation in the Intellectual Property Enterprise Court and has advised on strategy in a number of patent infringement disputes. He also has experience in helping clients to obtain standard-essential patents in the telecommunications field.
Tom has a BSc in Physics, specialising in biomedical physics.
