Kilburn & Strode continues expansion of successful San Francisco Liaison Office

Our European IP offering in the US is expanding! Harry Harden, Partner of the firm’s London office, is relocating to our San Francisco Liaison Office to spearhead growth and expansion of our Bay Area European offering. This will build on the existing success of the San Francisco Liaison Office which acts as a first port of call to many companies across Silicon Valley.

The move will increase our European services for both companies and US law firms seeking local European IP experts to help manage global patent, design or trademark portfolios for some of the biggest names in Silicon Valley. A close collaboration between European and US firms can make the difference between success and failure at the EPO in particular, and our local office is perfectly positioned to ensure success.

Harry is a real expert at navigating the European patent system. His move to Silicon Valley responds to the growing demand from disruptive tech companies for local European IP services. We’re extremely excited to be increasing our US offering.

Harry Harden

Harry has a background in physics and has a Master’s degree in physics from the University of Nottingham. He primarily works in the physics, software and autonomous driving fields where he closely integrates with US firms and clients directly to assist in both invention capture, drafting and prosecution.

Recent work has involved advising on drafting techniques and strategies for maximising the chances of EPO success, particularly for borderline cases prone to eligibility issues at both the USPTO and EPO. This includes software, AI, UI and business method technologies.

Harry also has particular expertise in freedom to operate analysis and due diligence work on various scales, from start-ups to large multi-national corporations. Recent work has involved detailed patent due diligence investigations to advise on commercial implications of patent portfolios as part of critical M&A activities.
