Community and charity

We give our employees the freedom to support the charities and charitable activities of their choice within the work environment. And we support them in a number of ways. In order to use our social expertise to help others, we give everybody one CSR day a year to do what they want, often supporting community initiatives which include baking events, Christmas Jumper Day, Jeans-for-Genes day, charity breakfasts, Crisis Square Mile Run, and Shine Night Walk for Cancer Research.

Celebrating diversity: IP Inclusive

We were one of the first signatories of the IP Inclusive Charter, making a public commitment to supporting and promoting equality, diversity and inclusion in the IP professions. Additionally, we regularly host events with IP Out, our Lean In women’s group and more.

We care about the wider innovation and technology community; that’s why we donate 1% of all annual profits to the Kilburn & Strode Innovation for All Foundation – thereby giving everyone the chance to both innovate and prosper. Our company’s existence is not isolated. It’s part of a wider system of people, values, other organisations and nature. We truly care about more than just partner profit.

Working with STEMNET

Our STEM Ambassadors help to develop the creativity, problem-solving and employability skills of young people and to widen the understanding and awareness of STEM careers by participating in school-based STEM events. Amy Easter from Kilburn & Strode commented about her experience 'I spoke to three different groups of around 10 girls for approximately twenty minutes per group. Unsurprisingly, no one had any idea what my job as a patent attorney entails, so I began with a brief explanation and then shared with them the career path that led me into this profession.'
