Top-tier European IP firm Kilburn & Strode expands partnership with hire of Peter Gray into the firm

Strategic hire gives boost to firm’s stellar semiconductor experience

Bringing over 25 years of experience, Peter’s wealth of knowledge spans a wide range of physics-based technologies. His particular work in the telecoms sector and knowledge of semiconductors strengthens the Tech group, which is already known for its offering in these fields globally, especially in the UK and the Silicon Valley.

Amongst his various engagements, Peter was heavily involved for a number of years in building the patent portfolio supporting ST-Ericsson’s NovaThor product line, and subsequently Ericsson’s 5G RAN offering.

He has also worked with a number of universities looking at developing cutting edge devices using novel semiconductor materials and structures. He is hugely experienced in crafting and securing robust patents, as well as providing sound strategic guidance and nuanced advice on contentious matters.

He will work alongside Tech partners Nick Shipp and Gareth Fennell predominantly in our London office.

Peter is also a very experienced trainer and mentor and is involved with the running of the final examinations for UK patent attorneys and delivering training courses for candidates. We anticipate that our aspiring trainees will greatly benefit from his addition to the firm.

The hire underlines the firm’s commitment to grow its client base in the semiconductor industry.

Peter is a fantastic fit for us, both personally and professionally. He’s a hugely experienced attorney, having run his own firm for around 15 years. His strong practice in the semiconductor sector complements our existing offering brilliantly.

Gareth Fennell, Partner, Tech
