Kilburn & Strode volunteers help homeless people get ahead on the job market

Facilitated by the 999 Club, a charity committed to sustainable employment and housing solutions for people affected by homelessness, the partnership is designed to help those in need improve their employability through individual workshops and career guidance.

After experiencing homelessness, people often struggle to get back on the job market. The aim of the workshops is to equip vulnerable people with the right skill set to create successful CVs, improve interview techniques and regain confidence in their existing strengths and talents. The charity offers a comprehensive programme for those ready to re-enter the job market, including training courses, to get new qualifications.

Kilburn & Strode’s Director of Human Resources, Jonathan Clarke, led the partnership between the firm and the charity, he said: “I am delighted to be working with the 999 Club and pleased that our HR team can add value to the great work they are doing.”

Dahlia Parkinson, employability coordinator at 999 Club, said: “We’re delighted to have the ongoing support from the volunteers at Kilburn & Strode in sharing their expertise and helping people to make the most of their talents to find new work. Thanks to everyone who gave their time – everyone appreciated the good advice and we’re looking forward to future sessions later in the year.”
