Alex is a European and UK patent attorney in the Tech & Engineering team at Kilburn & Strode.

Alex graduated from Imperial College London in 2019 with a first class Master’s degree in Physics. Over the course of his degree Alex gained knowledge in a broad range of applied fields: from nanotechnology and laser physics to computational neuroscience and plasmonics. His final year project concerned the development and build of an optical trap in which oil microdroplets could be levitated by a vertically orientated laser beam.

While at university, Alex spent a summer working in the Photonics research group. Here he undertook a research pilot investigating the potential benefits of utilising surface plasmon polariton leakage radiation as an alternative to conventional surface plasmon resonances in biosensors.
