Annalise is a Trainee Patent Attorney in the Life Sciences & Chemistry group, specialising in Chemistry. She is currently training to become a qualified UK and European Patent Attorney.

Prior to joining Kilburn & Strode in 2023, Annalise studied for an integrated Master’s degree in Chemistry at Durham University, graduating with first-class honours. Her final year research project was in solid-state materials chemistry and focussed on relating a material’s complex atomic structure to its macroscopic physical properties. Annalise was fortunate enough to have her samples studied using the NSLS-II synchrotron X-ray source at Brookhaven National Laboratory and neutron total-scattering facility at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, both in the United States. She enjoyed working with overseas collaborators to examine the material’s local structure using Pair Distribution Function analysis. For her research, Annalise was awarded the Durham Alumni Thesis Prize in recognition of outstanding writing in an MChem project thesis.
