Heather is a trainee patent attorney in our Life Sciences and Chemistry team, with expertise in areas such as Immunology, Agri-tech and Oncology. She has particular experience in drafting and prosecuting inventions relating to antibodies and “non-conventional” antibodies. Other key areas of her practice include vaccines, cancer therapies, biomarkers and microbiology.
Heather works with a large range of clients, from small start-ups to large multinationals. She works closely with her clients to co-ordinate prosecution of commercially valuable assets across the world, with expertise in prosecuting applications in m any global markets. She provides client centric, tailored advice to ensure the best possible outcome for her clients across a variety of complex and interlinked global portfolios.
Prior to joining Kilburn and Strode in 2020, Heather gained her PhD in Infection and Immunity from the University of Glasgow. Her work focussed on the emerging roles for long non-coding RNA in the immune response, and was part of an exciting collaboration with the pharmaceutical industry. Despite leaving academia behind, she retains a keen eye on the developments in the field.
