Johanna is a European and UK patent attorney in the Life Sciences and Chemistry group where she works with a variety of technologies in the chemical field, including pharmaceuticals, polymers and composite materials. She has experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications for large multinational companies, universities and SMEs.
 
Born and raised in Latvia, Johanna graduated from the University of Bristol with a first-class master’s degree in Chemistry. During her studies, she was awarded scholarships for research projects involving protein NMR analysis and compound synthesis at the University of Auckland and the Pasteur Institute, which furthered her interest in drug development. She remains a student at heart and enjoys every opportunity to delve into new and complex subject-matter.
