Rupert’s key areas of expertise are computer implemented inventions, software and industrial equipment, with further experience in mechanical inventions and medical equipment. Rupert acts for clients before both the UK IPO and EPO, and has experience supporting litigation at the IPEC and Court of Appeal.
 
Rupert has previous industry experience in the telecoms space as a test engineer working on 4G radio heads. As a PhD student working between Royal Holloway’s low temperature group and the National Physical Laboratory, his thesis focussed on the development of nano-electro-mechanical systems as probes for superfluid Helium - a subject at the intersection of cryogenics and nanofabrication. Rupert has significant experience working with cryogenic technologies and experimental design, and especially at the leading edge of metrological advances and new applications of cryogenic techniques.
 
In addition to his experience in technology, Rupert has also spent time volunteering in prehospital care charities and has extensive experience in front line care environments. He is particularly excited by technologies and innovations that provide benefits in patient care.
