Trainee Patent Attorney
Yasmin has a Biochemistry degree from the University of Leeds and has recently completed a MSc degree in Biochemistry at the Berlin Free University. For her master’s thesis, Yasmin undertook a research project at the Berlin Institute for Medical Systems Biology. Her research focused on regulatory networks in cancer using an interdisciplinary systems biology approach. She integrated in vitro cell culture systems with high throughput omics analyses and bioinformatics to explore the efficacy of diagnostic and therapeutic methods, including AI-based diagnostics and personalized medicine. While living in Berlin, Yasmin attained the European Language Certificate in level B2 German. She also held a post as a research assistant at the Berlin Free University where she carried out research into volume-regulated anion channels using CRISPR-Cas9 genome editing and biochemical assays. Yasmin joined Kilburn & Strode as a Trainee Patent Attorney in the Life Sciences & Chemistry group in 2021 and is currently training to qualify as a Chartered UK and European Patent Attorney.
