Kilburn & Strode announces partnership expansion

Kilburn & Strode is further strengthening their top-tier service offering with the promotion of Mark Abthorpe and Jeremy Smith to partner, effective 1 April 2019.

Mark, from the firm’s Life Sciences and Chemistry department, works with inventions in a variety of fields including industrial chemistry, consumer products, pharmaceuticals, medical devices and more. Mark has a phenomenal reputation with a wide range of clients, including well-known multinationals, to handle their European work; from initial filing to post-grant appeals, as well as coordinating their global prosecution and revocation proceedings.

Jeremy, from the Electronics and IT department, works directly with a variety of clients from start-ups to large corporations. A significant proportion of his practice involves prosecuting and defending US-drafted applications and patents at the EPO. Jeremy regularly gives lectures for the American Intellectual Property Law Association and advises clients in the US on how to achieve success at the EPO.

Chairman, Professor Gwilym Roberts commented ‘We’re so lucky to have such strength in depth amongst our team. As a firm, we have big plans looking forward, and we’re delighted to welcome Jeremy and Mark into the team building that future.’
