After a very successful event for UK in-house attorneys, we're now hosting a workshop for those based in Europe! Our virtual workshop takes place on Thursday 2 February 2023 at 4:00pm CET, and will focus on the topic:
Should I FTO and, if I do, what happens next? How to determine whether FTO is the right thing for you and, just as importantly, how to deal with the results.
We have run several in-house knowledge sharing events on invention capture, both in person and online, and have received great feedback from attendees who have relished the chance to exchange views on rarely-debated topics with in-house peers.
Whereas invention capture focusses on the nuts and bolts of converting ideas into valuable IP, Freedom to Operate (FTO) is often the next step in the process and provides an outward looking assessment of risk.
In this virtual session, we will cover:
- FTO in the context of the development cycle of a new product (from inception to launch). When could an FTO analysis take place?
- How big should you go when it comes to FTO?
- What to do when you identify a potential threat?
- What happens when there is FTO?
- What happens if there is no FTO? What are your options?
Our speakers
For the keynote, we are pleased to have our partner Rike Dekker, formerly IP Manager at DSM, share her experiences on this topic alongside Judith Krens, patent litigation partner at Pinsent Masons. Judith will be sharing her views on key issues which can arise around FTO.
After the keynote, we will be splitting out into breakout rooms to share knowledge and experiences of FTO among peers.
If you can attend, we would be delighted to provide you with a delicious treat to enjoy during the discussion and help keep energy levels up!
Please make sure to confirm your attendance via this link so we know to send you something in the post.
