Aleksandra graduated with first-class honours in Biochemistry from University College London in 2024. During this time she gained specialist knowledge in a range of areas including human disease, biotechnology, molecular biology, and pharmacology. In order to further develop her skills in the lab, she completed a summer research placement investigating the consequences of CypA knockout on the inflammatory response.
For her final year MSci project, she worked within a co-translational protein folding group investigating the structure of huntingtin, as well as targeting the protein with single-chain variable fragments. She developed technical expertise in protein production and purification, as well as analytical techniques including 1H,15N-NMR and fluorescence anisotropy.
Beyond her academic experience, Aleksandra completed an internship at another UK patent law firm and gained valuable intellectual property knowledge.
In 2024, Aleksandra joined Kilburn & Strode as a Trainee Patent Attorney in the Life Sciences and Chemistry group, where she is training to become a Chartered UK and European Patent Attorney.
