Described as “Tech maestro with a solid grip on the legal aspects of patent prosecution and extremely technically savvy” (IAM Patent 1000, 2020), I “build futureproofed patent strategies in cutting-edge areas such as AI” (IAM Patent 1000, 2021). I am listed as one of the world's leading IP Strategists in Intellectual Asset Management's IAM Strategy 300 for the last nine years and am consistently recognised as leading individual for computer technology by the Juve Patent UK rankings. I lead the firm's AI practice and publish a monthly newsletter on the latest trends in patenting AI. Based on years of experience advising clients on how to make strategic choices in the wider business context, I have also published a book on IP Strategy for the boardroom.

I have an MSci in Physics from Imperial College and a PhD in Computational Neuroscience from University College London. My particular technical expertise is in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML), having worked at the Gatsby Computational Neuroscience Unit, a centre of excellence for computational and theoretical neuroscience and statistical machine learning. With interdisciplinary research work not only in neuroscience but also in protein crystallography and molecular modelling, I am also the ideal partner for bioinformatics work. My practice focuses on helping clients protect the application of novel machine learning techniques to big data problems in health care and TechBio.
