Since joining the Life Sciences and Chemistry team in October 2022, Alice has gained experience in prosecution of patent applications before the European patent office. Alice has experience of working on a variety of technologies in the field of chemistry, including prosecuting applications directed to materials, coatings, solvents, consumer products and pharmaceutical chemistry. She has particular experience of working directly with clients to provide robust protection for commercial products.
Alice graduated with a PhD in Materials Science and Metallurgy from the University of Cambridge where her research focussed on making new types of glass from porous materials, including metal-organic frameworks.  Prior to pursuing her PhD, Alice graduated top of her cohort with a first class MChem in Chemistry from the University of St Andrews. During her academic career, Alice has worked on various materials chemistry research projects encompassing ferroelectric and multiferroic materials, porous materials, and surface science. In addition, Alice has taken part in outreach events to encourage secondary school pupils to consider studying scientific subjects at university.
