Alice works in the Life Sciences and Chemistry team, specialising in Chemistry. Her practice focuses on prosecution of patents before the European patent office. She has particular expertise in the area of materials chemistry.
 
Alice recently completed her PhD research in Materials Science and Metallurgy at the University of Cambridge, where her research focused on making new types of glass from porous materials including metal-organic frameworks. As part of her PhD, Alice gained practical experience working at the Diamond Light Source, a synchrotron X-ray facility based in Oxfordshire. Prior to pursuing her PhD, Alice graduated top of her cohort with a first class MChem in Chemistry from the University of St Andrews.
 
During her academic career, Alice has worked on various materials chemistry research projects encompassing ferroelectric and multiferroic materials, porous materials, and surface science. In addition, Alice has taken part in outreach events to encourage secondary school pupils to consider studying scientific subjects at university.
 
Alice joined the firm in 2022 as a Trainee Attorney in the Life Sciences and Chemistry team and is currently training to qualify as a UK and European Patent Attorney.
