Alice advises a range of clients on technologies across the life sciences, from cellular and biological therapeutic products, to diagnostics, sequencing methods and novel biomaterials. She is experienced in European patent prosecution, and in oppositions at the EPO. She is also experienced in providing extensive analysis and advice on matters such as patentability and freedom to operate.
Alice's research background focuses on emerging immunotherapies, particularly those that target inflammation. More specifically, she has experience working with small molecule channel inhibitors for treatment of autoimmunity, as well as TCR-engineered T cells for treatment of Acute Myeloid Leukaemia. With a background involving various therapeutic platforms, Alice is well equipped to advise and support clients navigating the intellectual property of this complex and competitive space.
Alice has a BSc in Biochemistry and an MSc Immunology, both from Imperial College London. She has experience working in collaborative research during her time at the Francis Crick Institute, and also has industry experience, which was gained at a drug delivery start-up. Alice started her training in 2021, and joined Kilburn & Strode as a part-qualified trainee patent attorney in our Life Sciences and Chemistry team in 2024.
