Alistair is a UK and European Patent Attorney with experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications across a range of technology including optics, electronics, RF engineering, medical devices and computer software. Alistair’s practice focusses on getting patents granted before the European Patent Office (EPO) and managing worldwide patent portfolios. He also has experience defending patents attacked before the Opposition Division of the EPO.

Alistair represents clients at the cutting edge of their field, including start-ups, universities and multinational corporations. He particularly enjoys getting an inside perspective of his clients' commercial priorities and tailoring protection to their specific needs.
 
Prior to working in intellectual property, Alistair completed Master’s degrees from the Georgia Institute of Technology, USA, and the University of St Andrews. His studies included quantum physics, optics, photonics and nanotechnology. He also has experience developing software in the nuclear industry.
