Caitlin graduated from University College London (UCL) with a Master’s degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering. Throughout her degree, Caitlin studied various topics including digital design, electronic circuits, photonics and several areas of nanotechnology. She wanted to use her electronics knowledge experimentally in her individual project, so built a floor-mounted sensor network using accelerometers and gyroscopes, to find out if they had use in injury prevention for dancers.
After an internship creating technical reports for patent applications at the UK Intellectual Property Office, Caitlin discovered a passion for telecommunications. Her final year project was to create a wireless communication solution for a fully-implantable brain-computer interface. The solution was based on single-pulse harmonic modulation between two coils to wirelessly transmit data. Caitlin created and simulated the hardware then, together with her team, designed a communication protocol.
Caitlin joined Kilburn & Strode in September 2020 as a Trainee Patent Attorney in the Tech group and is currently training to become a European and Chartered UK Patent Attorney.
