Hal graduated from the University of Nottingham with a first class Master’s degree in Physics. His Master's project specialised in electromagnetism and mechanics, with practical and theoretical applications ranging from hospital equipment to crystal lattice modelling.
Alongside this, Hal was also the top student for modules analysing and debating the politics and modern application of science and technology. Having developed a keen interest in the greater role that harnessing IP can play in the success of a company, Hal works closely with clients to assist in IP strategy and risk analysis, and enjoys helping clients navigate the commercial and legal challenges which parallel individual patents.
Hal's practice additionally involves a diverse portfolio of patents, where he brings an expertise in medical technology, scientific instruments and robotics to a variety of clients in his drafting and prosecution work.
Away from the desk, Hal is a keen triathlete and frequently races in long distance events. He also has a multilingual sociability in German alongside his native English, developed whilst living in Munich and studying Physics at Ludwig-Maximillian-Universität.
