Jennifer specialises in complex patent prosecution and IP strategy in the chemical sector. Her practice focuses on the drafting of original patent applications, prosecution of patent applications before the EPO and UKIPO, representing clients in hearings at the EPO in pre-grant, opposition and appeal proceedings, advising on issues relating to supplementary protection certificates (SPCs), and the management of international patent filing and prosecution strategies. She also has significant experience of advising on infringement and validity issues and regularly assists clients with due diligence projects, particularly in the pharmaceutical sector.
In terms of technology, Jennifer works across the chemical field, with particular expertise in the areas of pharmaceutical chemistry, drug delivery formulations, prodrug technologies, synthetic methods, composite materials and polymers.
Jennifer works closely with clients ranging from SMEs and university technology transfer offices to multinational companies. Her expertise includes representing clients in the pharmaceutical sector at all stages of the drug development process, from invention capture and original patent drafting, through to managing complex patent portfolios for high value clinical trial candidates and marketed drug products.
