Jessica is a Partner in the Chemistry team at Kilburn & Strode and her practice is focused on high value industrial chemistry and pharmaceutical chemistry. She is experienced in technical areas including diagnostic imaging agents, formulations for pharmaceutical applications, medical devices, low Global Warming Potential fluorocarbons, catalysts, composite materials and polymers.
 
Jessica manages complex global patent portfolios directed to commercial products and works closely with her clients to develop patent prosecution, opposition and freedom to operate strategies that suit their individual needs. 
 
She has considerable experience in opposition and appeal proceedings before the European Patent Office with a high success rate. She regularly defends European patents, maintaining valuable claim scopes and also has success acting as an opponent.
 
In the past year Jessica has coordinated the prosecution of a global patent portfolio for a multinational medical technology company that develops innovative molecular imaging contrast agents for patient imaging technologies like MRI, PET and X-ray imaging, including FDA-approved products.  She has worked closely with the technical team to develop prosecution strategies that best support this client’s commercial needs.
 
Jessica graduated with an MChem in Chemistry from the University of Oxford. In her final year, her research involved investigation into the use of 1,2-disubstituted ferrocene molecules as anion sensors.
