Johanna graduated from the University of Bristol in 2019 with a first-class master’s degree in Chemistry. During her studies in Bristol, Johanna carried out research on the validation of a new method for determining haem binding affinity in proteins.
She also received scholarships for research projects at the University of Auckland and the
Pasteur Institute, which allowed her to expand her experience in NMR analysis and chemical synthesis while fuelling her interest in pharmaceutical technology. Johanna learnt more about different research areas when she participated in funded training experiences at a multinational pharmaceutical company and a nanoscience research centre. Besides English and her native Latvian, she also speaks conversational Russian.
Johanna joined Kilburn & Strode in September 2019 and is training to become a European and UK patent attorney in the Life Sciences and Chemistry group.
