Tomos has technical expertise in a variety of high-tech fields, including telecommunications, optoelectronics and aerospace engineering.
 
His academic experience includes an MSci Physics degree followed by an industry-sponsored PhD in solid state physics, both from Imperial College London. His research and publications focused on high efficiency solar cells, giving him international experience of the wider III-V compound semiconductor industry. He subsequently worked in commercial spacecraft manufacturing, where he was responsible for designing and testing satellite power systems, with a focus on solar array and battery technology.
 
Tomos’ patent work is focused on the prosecution of patent applications spanning a wide range of technical subjects, including telecommunications, networking and computer implemented inventions.
