Top-tier European IP firm Kilburn & Strode further expands its reach into the US with the hire of Albert Keyack, former EPO attaché to the United States, as Vice President.
With more than three decades of experience in intellectual property, including holding roles with the European Patent Office (EPO), United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and in-house as Chief IP Counsel, Albert provides a wide range of insights for our US clients and contacts. He joins
Freddy Thiel, VP of the firm’s San Francisco liaison office, to create a unique US offering.
Prior to joining Kilburn & Strode, Albert represented the EPO as the first attaché to the United States, a role of both advocating for European patents and acting in a liaison role with US-based applicants to the EPO. Albert also represented the USPTO as the Intellectual Property Attaché to Latin America, advocating both for stronger intellectual property laws, judicial reforms and better trade practices, as well as representing the interests of US industry with regards to intellectual property and related regulatory issues, such as pharmaceutical regulation.
