Partnership announcement: Kilburn & Strode appoints new partner to expand Chemistry offering

We’re delighted to announce that Jo Bradley has joined Kilburn & Strode’s Life Sciences & Chemistry group in the firm’s latest external hire into the partnership. The appointment is part of the firm’s continuing growth strategy, with the expansion of an already stellar chemistry offering. Notably, this is the firm’s fourth consecutive hire of a woman into the partnership.

Jo brings a wealth of experience, having built a practice in the speciality (performance) chemicals sector, known for its particular complexity and competitiveness, over the past two decades. Jo will be able to continue her outstanding work for her existing client base, who are familiar with her thorough and strategic approach to obtaining IP protection worldwide and, in particular, in dealing with contentious inter partes proceedings at the European Patent Office.

Jo’s offering includes a strong physical chemistry background which has yielded success for client’s portfolios in areas such as

  • Fuel cell technology, batteries, gas sensors, solar cells, and

  • LED technology

Jo has also experience in the medical sector, including wound care technology and pharmaceuticals.

Commenting on the appointment, partner Elizabeth Crooks says: “Jo is an excellent fit for us. She is direct, dynamic and dedicated to her clients. She brings the right mix of chemistry expertise that complements the firm’s existing offering.”

The firm’s growth strategy has continued to rise on an upward trajectory. The firm’s last four external hires at partner level have all been women, a major accomplishment and tribute to the firm’s progressive, diverse and inclusive culture. The trade marks team welcomed Dutch-native Claudia Festen and her team in 2019, as well as Rowena Tolley at the start of 2020. In the same year, Rike Dekker joined the LSC group. Also a Dutch-native, Rike heads up the firm’s Rotterdam office.

I am really delighted to have joined Kilburn & Strode. They are a firm of enthusiastic, highly skilled, top-of-their game attorneys with a strong focus on their clients. I am looking forward to working in their Life Sciences & Chemistry group.“ Jo Bradley
