We are delighted to announce this year’s Partner and Counsel promotions.

Carol Nyahasha and Daniel Jarrett are promoted to Partner.

Abi Heath, Nathan Gillott-Jones and Rosie Carrie are promoted to Counsel.

These promotions continue our commitment to advancing our people, investing in everyone's development, whilst looking to our future.

Our Chair, Gwilym Roberts says

These appointments not only strengthen our capabilities in Life Sciences & Chemistry, Tech & Engineering and Trade Marks, they more importantly help us to continue to meet the demands of our clients who look to us for commercial and premium advice. I’m very pleased to recognise all of their hard work and achievements.

Carol Nyahasha has extensive experience both in industry and private practice. Her expertise includes brand management, advising on trade mark filing strategies and dealing with UK, EU, US and international trade mark contentious and non-contentious matters. Carol has experience managing a wide range of portfolios for clients in various sectors including tech start-ups, FMCG, finance, fashion and the food and drinks sector.

Daniel Jarrett has a penchant for everything high-tech, from software to telecoms to audio engineering, and is skilled in handling detailed technical work but also in giving clear and pragmatic advice. It’s exciting to have such talent and experience in the team.

Abi Heath leverages her experience in biologics and cancer research for clients across the field of Life Sciences, with particular expertise in antibodies and next generation sequencing technologies. Other key areas of practice include vaccines, cancer therapies, biomarkers and microbiology. Abi employs a client-centric approach, providing practical, commercially focussed advice to a diverse range of clients; from small start-ups to large multinationals.

Nathan Gillott-Jones has significant experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications across a wide range of technical areas, from mechanical inventions through to electronics and computer software. Nathan prides himself on high-quality drafting and a meticulous approach to prosecution, underpinned by his forensic attention to detail. He has notable recent expertise in a large-scale multi-faceted freedom-to-operate analysis, including advising on non-infringement and invalidity in relation to competitor patents

Rosie Carrie has a technical background in mechanical and electrical engineering. Before joining Kilburn & Strode, she gained industrial experience in the automotive sector, working on hybrid electric vehicles for a major car manufacturer. Rosie’s patent practice has focused on the drafting and prosecuting of patent applications in the automotive, aerospace, and energy and utility sectors. Rosie has particular expertise in (and enjoys working on) electrical machine and hybrid vehicle technologies and other clean technology solutions.
